1940's Fashion on Film - Leave Her To Heaven

Gene Tierney is the star of this 1945 film. Her character is, for lack of better words, a psychotic freak. But at least she got to play a psycho with style! Throughout the movie, Gene has a ton of great costume changes. Her outfits range from sophisticated to casual, but she always looks fabulous. I just wish I had a full length picture of the green halter neck 1940's bathing suit she wears, it's amazing!

1960's Dresses Galore!

I came across a ton of vintage 60's dresses recently, so I've been trying to add them all to my online store! My favorite is the tent dress in the last photo, it's so summery and happy! There's a link to my shop on the left side of my blog, in case you want any details on these dresses. More to come!

Happy Birthday Joan Crawford

Joan Crawford was born in San Antonio, Texas in 1905. Who knew how big of a star this little girl named "Lucille" would become? I have to say, Joan had the most amazing style throughout her life, no matter what age she was. Above are some of my favorite photos of her.
Here's some great quotes by Joan:
"If you'e going to be a star, you have to look like a star, and I never go out unless I look like Joan Crawford the movie star. If you want to see the girl next door, go next door."
"Send me flowers while I'm alive. They won't do me a damn bit of good after I'm dead."
"I think the most important thing a woman can have, next to talent, of course, is her hairdresser."
So true.

Coffee Time!

Having coffee has always been such a comforting and relaxing thing for me. It's one of those things I look forward to, even though I have it every day. I remember going to my grandmother's and great aunt's house when I was really young, and they always had a huge pot of coffee going. They would finish off the pot in no time at all, and then they'd start another one! Maybe that's how they got so much knitting done? Anyhow, here are some cute pictures of coffee culture from the 1920's to the 1950's.

More Vintage Store Items

Well, I've been really busy adding lots of new vintage items to my webstore. Here is the newest batch! My favorite is the pair of blue 1930's shoes! I was really hoping they would fit me, but they're a little too narrow. Whoever can fit into those shoes is one lucky lady, i absolutely adore them! I also added a black 1950's skirt, a sheer white 1940's dress,
a beautiful 1950's Lord & Taylor dress, and a gorgeous 1950's checkered dress!

1960's Fashion on Film - Palm Springs Weekend

My sister was watching "Palm Springs Weekend" this afternoon, and although I had a list of things to do, the 1960's dresses lured me in! This movie stars Connie Stevens and has some great early 60's fashion. I love the scarves she's always wearing to protect her big bouffant hair-do, and of course they always match her outfits. The party scene is the best though, every dress is better than the next. Oh, and did I mention the amazing 60's couches? I could watch this movie over and over again just for the gorgeous clothes and furniture!

Casual 1930's Dress

I just bought this cute 1930's dress online! I've always wanted a casual type 30's outfit, as most of my 1930's dresses are quite dressy and I only wear them for special occasions. This one is perfect for everyday. I love the sailor/anchor print and the little tie at the neck. I also love that it looks like you're wearing a skirt and shirt, but really it's a dress!

The Latest Vintage Purses & Clothing

I finally had a chance to add some new vintage items to my webstore! Among them are a 1940's and 1950's purse, a pretty 1950's dress with a matching jacket, and some 1960's pedal pushers. I really wanted to keep both purses, but if you're like me, you have more purses than you can count!

Jean Harlow Style

Well, I'm finally finished moving and have got my internet back so I can blog again! Vintage style of course. Sadly, I missed Jean Harlow's birthday on March 3rd so this post will be of Jean in some gorgeous 1930's hats and outfits. I'm still trying to find myself a great 1930's hat! I think the first photo of Jean is my favorite. Simply stunning.
