Betty Grable was born in St. Louis, Missouri in 1916. She started acting when she was just 12 years old, and signed a contract with Paramount Pictures in the 1930's. Betty was known not only for her acting, but for her legs! After Betty posed for her iconic bathing suit photo, she became the most popular pin-up girl during WWII. She was known as "the girl with the million dollar legs", as her studio had them insured for one million dollars! Dorothy Lamour was born in New Orleans, Louisiana in 1914. In 1931, she entered a beauty pageant and was crowned "Miss New Orleans". She then pursued a career as a singer which eventually led her to Hollywood in 1936. Dorothy soon signed a contract with Paramount Pictures and proved to be a talented actress. She was also one of the most popular pin-up girls during WWII, and helped raise millions of dollars in war bonds. Did you know that Dorothy once worked as an elevator operator?
