1930's Swimwear
Yes, another vintage swimsuit post! But how could I not brag about the 1930's bathing suit I just got! This is my oldest one yet! It's black, and it basically looks like a long tank top made out of wool. Here are some photos of Joan Blondell, Claudette Colbert, Carole Lombard and Jean Harlow, in the swimwear of the time. I must say, Jean's suit is pretty scandalous compared to the other ones! They're all pretty cute though. I love the little belts that were worn with them! Which swimsuit is your favorite?

Wonderful blog! What a treasure. I love the pics here. :-)
I love these! Claudette's reminds me of a retro Bond girl--it might be the belt. I think I like Jean Harlow's the best, I just adore that woman, it's so glam!
I love how vintage swimwear fits perfectly on curvier women!
My favorite is the one on the second picture. So glamorous!
What a pretty and nice blog!
Thank you for leaving that lovely comment in my blog.
Those vintage swimwear are great.
xx
I love the fourth one - so classic. My figure suits these styles. I think Im trapped in the wrong era. xf
I love them all! I agree, the belts are cute, as well.
Lombard's is my fave but sadly, swimsuits look awful on me. These are gorgeous though...
lovely...vintage swimwear it's just incredible!!

regards,
Very cool! There is an exhibit here in CT at the Wadsworth Museum about the history of the bathing suit; your post just reminded me that I need to get over there and see it!!
very classy, for sure!!!
a kiss!!
Jean Harlow, what a woman! I really must get myself a suit like these for my coming summer. It would cover up my tattoo just perfectly for when I need to be more demure.
What gorgeous shots. I'll never get tired of seeing Jean Harlow.
I prefer Claudettes modest and cute swimsuit. She looks so sweet in it. Though all 4 are so pretty:)
