Oh this is a fun dress. I love what a crinoline can do, and I love these colors right now. Actually no, who am I kidding, I love all colors all the time. Anyways, gotta find me one of these dresses for summer!

Vintage Starlet of the Day
Gene Tierney. I can't get over her gorgeous clothing. I did some reading up on the always beautiful Gene. It's weird how so many starlets have extremely tragic lives. Apparently she suffered from depression, and was given shock therapy. After 27 shock treatments, Gene tried to escape, only to be caught and re-institutionalized. It eventually destroyed large parts of her memory.Gene eventually died of emphysema from smoking. Ironically, it was her studio bosses when she was a young actress who had encouraged her to start smoking, they thought it would make her voice sexier.

Vintage Sixties Mini Dress
Sooo perfect for summer. I found this one on Ebay. I don't know why, but I've been neglecting all my 60's vintage dresses lately. I go through phases where I'll wear one decade or style for months, and then move onto a different one. This just reminded me of how much I LOVE mini dresses. Now I'm gonna go pull all mine out the boxes.

Vintage Dress Up Time
I babysat my little niece the other night, and who wouldn't want to play dress up with my 20 boxes of vintage clothing? Except she doesn't like to stick to one decade, she likes to mix it up a bit. Lets see, there's the 60's mini dress and purse, the 80's gold heels, and the 50's hat. Looks good to me.

Vintage Hat Dreaming

So, I found these three gorgeous hats that I love. The first one is from the 20's, second one from the 30's, and of course the last one is from the 40's. I think that if I had to pick one though, I would choose the green 30's hat. I love the fact that it has a bit of a masculine look to it. Which is your favorite?

Wannabe Vintage Clothing
I don't do it very often, but once in awhile I give in and buy clothes that are non vintage. Of course they usually have a vintage look to them though, hehe. Anyhow, just thought I'd post a pic of my latest "new" find. I've been looking for a red dress forever, and this one just grabbed my attention. I usually stay away from malls, but my sister dragged me out the other day, and well, I got my dress!

Wow, I haven't been on the computer forever, life is too unstable right now and I don't like it! Anyhow, I know this isn't a dress, but its adorable. So this is my Ebay Favorite Clothes post or something like that. Starring a super cute vintage halter top that I wish was mine! With a built in bra too. I love it.

Marilyn Monroe of course. It's about time I put Marilyn in here. I could do a blog just featuring her clothes, or shoes for that matter. And the reason I chose this picture? Those platforms! Check them out.

Vintage Garden Party Dress
I love finding treasures like this. Found this one a thrift store not looking like much on the hanger. But when I got it home and put it on the dress form, wow! Gorgeous, and with a big crinoline underneath it would be even better! I swear, decent vintage clothing is getting so much harder to find at thrift shops.

Vintage 50's Prom Queen
I can dream, can't I? Another dream would be that this dress wouldn't have a huge rip in it! But only I have to know that, because I covered it up with a flower! It works pretty good doesn't it? For $6, I figured it was worth the try. Another idea I had would be to remove the top layer of tulle/netting over the bodice. Then it would just become a strapless gown, which would be nice except that the layer underneath is a little faded...I think I'll leave it for now. More clothing pictures to come!

Vintage Clothing to Die For
Feast your eyes on this 1950's bombshell. I bought this gown a little while ago at a local vintage store for under $50, and it's perfect! No, it doesn't fit me, but I have tiny friends who can model it. I swear I've never found a dress so beautiful and in such great condition. I will probably sell it, but I don't want to! I want to display it on my wall, haha.
Sparkling 60's Vintage Purse
Picked this little purse up at a cheap vintage shop last weekend.Looks sixties.
I love sparkly accessories...
I could never say no...
Then I found a silver box shaped one, and a clutch covered in fake pearls!
Ooh, and I also got a really cool hat box that's like a mini suitcase!
So now I have something to carry them around in.

Vintage Space Style
The elegant Jane Jetson. This is actually the first picture I've seen of her wearing something other than her usual purple mini dress, so I had to post it.
Jane was basically a sweet housewife and mother who did absolutely nothing.
Their robot did all the housework, and dinner came from a vending machine.
So she was basically a lazy space wife.
She looks great though.
Love the sixties futuristic fashions.

Vintage Clothing Miracle
Finally!Im back!
After not having a computer for 2 weeks, I can now post again.
So I'm gonna try and do a post overload the nest few days.
I'm starting off with a pic of this 1940's dress, because I found one almost identical at Value Village last week.
Yes, I said Value Village, it's true.
Never have I found anything this good there.
Now I probably won't find anything there for the next 2 years, but this was worth it.
The only difference is mine is more of an acetate fabric, where is this one looks satin-like.
Gorgeousnessssss....

Vintage Starlet of the Day
Carole Landis in 1940. It was almost impossible to choose a picture of her, as each one is more stunning than the next. Did you know Carole chose her screen name after her idol Carole Lombard? She looks like perfection, maybe that's why she was voted best dressed screen star in 1943.

Ebay Dress of the Day
1940's swing style dress. This is so simple yet so gorgeous. I actually just bought a vintage 40's dress this morning, and it's stunning. It's a miracle too, the waist was bigger than 24! Usually everything I find thats earlier than 1950's is so tiny. It's sheer though, so I can't post a picture till I get a nice slip to go under it:)

Vintage Style
Once again, I'm not usually into the vintage "style" or retro "style" in clothing.Usually they're just cheap rip offs, trying to be trendy.
This dress however, I love.
It was on some vintage inspired fashion website, but you can tell all the dresses were very well made, and quite beautiful.
They're pricing was pretty crazy though, for non-vintage items.
Crazy but stunning.

Vintage Silver Shoes
As I was pouting over how people were outbidding me on Ebay (for all the vintage shoes I wanted)...I had a brilliant idea. Why not just go down to one of the local vintage stores, and try and find some cute shoes?
I've been online so much I almost forgot that real stores existed!
So I found these silver beauties that fit me perfectly.
I wonder what year they're from...the girl at the shop said prob 1950's, but I had thought 1960's...
If Carol from Dandelion Vintage reads this, let me know what you think!

Vintage Gloves
Got my first Christmas present last night! A sweet friend of mine got me some gorgeous vintage gloves. I'm guessing they're 1950s, but I could be wrong. Either way I'm so excited, and can't wait to wear them. I've gotta start wearing more of my vintage collection. There's no sense in having all those beautiful dresses just hang in my closet, and this is the perfect time of year to do so. I will post the pics to prove it too.Hope everyone has a great Christmas!

Ebay Dress of the Day
Love this red 1940's dress, but I still can't find my red vintage dress! Why is it so hard to find a red one that fits me?
Life is unfair.
And I wanted one for the holidays. I've been looking for months too!
Ok, enough.
I did pick up a bunch of 70's shirts this weekend, if thats any consolation. Really funky, with big collars and crazy patterns. So fun.
Oooh, and I found a bunch of old school baby barrettes, all brand new in packages, so I grabbed those as well.
Last but not least, I found some very lovely gloves.
White, in good condition, with a little flower pattern on them.
Very ladylike.

Vintage Dress Finds
Wow, its time for me to post!Ok, so I've found a ton of new things in the past week.
First the white little mini dress in the photo.
It looks really 60's, Im wondering if it was maybe some kind of unifom?
A little short for a nurses uniform, but the label says "White Cross" so you never know.
Just dont bend over.
Found a tye dyed 60s mini dress.
Super cute.
Also a long, green flower print Hawaiian dress. It's never too early to get ready for summer.
Not to mention a bunch of brand new, vintage white nylons to go with my new dresses.
And just my size.
Perfect.

Dating Vintage Clothing
Found this dress the other day, and it's in perfect condition! Looks like its barely been worn. Anyone have any guesses what year this could be? When I first saw it, I thought it looked very late 50's or early 60's...but maybe its more recent. It's very lightweight, and has some newer stitching inside, so who knows. Anyhow, I love it, but it's not my size like usual.

Green Vintage Style
Is it a jacket or dress, or both? Who knows. The main thing is I bought it! The boots look great, but I think I'm gonna do white tights with chunky black heels. Wow, I am so behind in blogging, I've gotta catch up! So, this was my latest purchase. But there were many more this past week....I will post pics asap!

Hot Pink Vintage Dress
Check out this hot pink vintage dress I recently found. It looks early 60s to me, but I could be wrong. The condition is perfect, I couldnt believe it. It looks like it was never even worn. Unfortunately it was just a little too tight for me...I mean, I could get into it, but I just couldn't move. So I guess I will try and sell it.More info on my Hot Pink Vintage Dress

Vintage Dresses Up for Sale
Well, I finally put some dresses up for sale on Ebay.Nothing much, but I need to get rid of my ever growing collection. I can barely find my way through my room anymore!
There's a cute leopard print coat as well, which I wanted to keep, but it's too big for me.
I posted a photo of the blue housewife style dress, or maybe its more of a cocktail dress.
Who knows.
Anyhow, I have tons more to put up.
Oh, and for some exciting news, I found 2 pairs of beautiful vintage heels today. One is open toed and the other is closed. They're both gold and they're both gorgeous.
My Ebay dresses
Vintage Platform Shoes
Check these out.The first thing I thought when I saw these was disco! But I may be way off.
Carol of Dandelion Vintage says they may be from the 1940's. Which would make me even more proud. The older the better.
They're quite beautiful, the detailed little beads are so gorgeous.
These platforms must have got some good use back in the day, but are still in great condition.
So Im thinking of selling them. Unfortunately I have no clue what size they are. I'm thinking they're about a size 6?
Does anyone know how to figure out shoe size? I have no clue. The label probably got worn off decades ago.

Vintage Starlet of the Day
The many shades of Stella Stevens in "The Nutty Professor". What a doll. I think my favorite is the white mini dress, with the matching hair bow of course.
EBay Dress of the Day
Why? Because I won it, and it's sooo cute. Bought it from - OhLaCherie. I just put up a few vintage items for sale so far, not much yet, but hopefully more this weekend. It's just hard to part with the things I love....but they do need good homes, it's a waste to have them just hanging in my closet all lonely.
