Vintage Christmas Ornaments

I love vintage Christmas ornaments, and I try to collect a few more each year. Usually I can only find these at antique shops, and they can be quite pricey. However, if you're lucky, you could walk into a thrift store a find a complete box for $2! Which is what happened to me yesterday! I guess you never know when they might sneak up on you :)

Vintage Santa Claus

I love vintage christmas decorations, especially Santa ones! I posted some photos of unique vintage Santa items. I think they're all pretty cute, minus the Santa disguise mask! Oh, and apparently Santa used to smoke. Then again, maybe he still does!

Vintage Christmas Trees - 1930's

Here are some photos of Christmas trees in the 1930's. I have to say, I adore the trees but I love the clothing so much more! Especially that satin looking bias cut dress Ginger Rogers is wearing on the last picture!

My Vintage Christmas Tree

Well, I'm almost ready for Christmas! I thought I would show off my "new" tree. It's a 4 foot tall 1950's aluminum tree. Decorated with vintage ornaments. Now all it needs are some presents under it!

Vintage Christmas Presents

Happy new year! Hope everyone had a good Christmas holiday! I received some amazing gifts this year, my favorites being vintage items from my boyfriend and sister. Here they are! The first is a gorgeous vintage powder box from my sister. The second is a 1950's or 60's plasic change purse that I'm using to hold my lipsticks. It has a shimmery gold design with dried flowers, so cute. Third is a pair of light blue vintage gloves with pretty decorative beads. Next is a vintage measuring cup that I'm guessing is from the 1950's. After that is an adorable little vintage celluloid container, which has a matching celluloid brush shown on the last photo. Last but not least is a vintage tobacco tin with a picture of pretty lady's face on it. I can't wait to find a dress to wear with those blue gloves!

Vintage Christmas Browsing

On Ebay that is. I decided to browse today, as I've done more than enough real shopping in the last few days! Though thats never stopped me before....hmmm, I may have to put a bid on that purse. Anyways, I tried to find some good holiday looking items. I found a beautiful red velvet 1950's dress, a vintage lucite bracelet, a 50's lucite purse and of course some gorgeous red vintage shoes!

Vintage Christmas Decorating

I decided to decorate my place early this year. Otherwise, it seems that as soon as put the decorations up, I have to take them right down again! So I have posted some photos of my vintage decorations. I was looking at some photos of 1950's Christmas trees, and I saw that most of them had tinsle. So I went out and got some tinsle to give my tree more of a vintage look. Do you think the tree looks better with or without the tinsle?

Vintage Christmas Eve!

Happy Christmas Eve from the lovely Vera Ellen, and me of course! I love this vintage pin-up picture of Vera in her pre-anorexic days. She actually looks healthy!
