More Vintage Store Items

Well, I've been really busy adding lots of new vintage items to my webstore. Here is the newest batch! My favorite is the pair of blue 1930's shoes! I was really hoping they would fit me, but they're a little too narrow. Whoever can fit into those shoes is one lucky lady, i absolutely adore them! I also added a black 1950's skirt, a sheer white 1940's dress,
a beautiful 1950's Lord & Taylor dress, and a gorgeous 1950's checkered dress!

Vintage Wedding Dress Time

My sister is getting married in 2 weeks, so I've started thinking about vintage wedding dresses again. Unfortunately she doesn't share my love for vintage clothing, so she'll be wearing a modern wedding gown. I wore a satin 1930's gown for my wedding 2 years ago, but if I had to do it again I think I might go for a 1920's or 1940's dress. I posted some photos of vintage wedding dresses from the 1920's to the 1960's. There are such drastic changes from decade to decade, but I think I love them all! Can you guess who each bride or "movie" bride is? From the top is Vilma Banky in 1925, Claudette Colbert in 1934, Rita Hayworth in 1941, Jackie Kennedy in 1953, and Sharon Tate in 1968. I love Sharon's shoes!

Vintage Halloween Presents

Instead of candy, this October I bought myself some non-edible treats! I'll start with the least expensive to the most pricey. First, 2 Clara Bow dvds. One is her third speaking role in "The Saturday Night Kid", which also features Jean Harlow. It's one of Jeans first roles and she has one line in the whole movie. They're both so adorable! The other Clara dvd is "Call Her Savage", which was apparently her favorite role. Next I got a beautiful blue velvet 1940's vintage hat. It's so cute. Lastly, I bought the most gorgeous rayon 1940's dress. I'll have to post pictures soon! As for now, enjoy the Clara Halloween pic!

Vintage Dress Oops

Please tell me I'm not the only one who has accidentally ruined/ripped or destroyed a beautiful vintage clothing piece! I was actually doing pretty good for awhile. There had been a period about a year ago, where a few of my items had been damaged accidentally. Usually I am extremely careful, but what can you do if you touch the lace on a 1940's dress and it disintegrates before your eyes! Then I go to try on my beautiful bias cut satin slip, and what do I hear? Tearing! No! I just bought it! I hadn't even worn it yet. It's only a tiny rip in the back, but still!! I guess sometimes theres nothing you can do. Of course I will try to replace these items as best I can, after all its a good excuse for more shopping!

Vintage 1940's Dress

I ordered this lovely full length vintage gown a few days ago. Gorgeous white taffetta with black sequined trim, and a cute little black flower. I'm lucking out lately, everything is in my size! I have to admit though, my place is getting out of control. I need another room just for my vintage clothing!
